Winter sports enthusiasts have encouraging news from Poiana Brașov, one of Romania’s most popular mountain resorts. Ski conditions remain favorable, supported by a consistent snow base and fully functional infrastructure.

The only restriction currently in place affects the Upper Lupului slope, which remains closed throughout the week to allow the smooth organization of the National Ski Championships.

Across the upper section of the ski domain, all other slopes are open. Snow depth ranges between 30 and 40 centimeters, while snow quality is reported as good. Recent snowfall has added a fresh layer over the prepared surface, further improving skiing conditions.

Similar conditions are observed in the lower section of the resort. Snow coverage varies between 30 and 50 centimeters, with all slopes accessible to visitors.

All major cable transport installations are operating normally, including the Ruia ski lift, frequently used by skiers.

At higher elevations, visibility may be temporarily reduced due to dense fog, a factor that can impact slope safety.

Mountain rescue teams advise skiers to wear appropriate equipment and adjust speed according to visibility and snow conditions.

Rescue activity remains significant. Teams from Salvamont România responded to 75 incidents over the weekend, most involving skiing-related accidents.
